SATREPS POME Materials Analysis Workshop

On September 29 2024, SATREPS POME Project* held 1-Day SATREPS POME Material Analysis Workshop at Impiana Hotel Senai Johor in conjunction with the Regional Congress on Membrane Technology (RCOM 2024).

This workshop commensed with welcome speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Juhana Jaafar, the director of Advanced Membrance Technology Research Centre (AMTEC) and followed by the introduction of SATREPS POME project by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Naoko Yoshida, the principal investigater of the project. The workshop focused on the X-ray characterization and fabrication of carbon nanocomposite electrodes and presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hidetoshi Miyazaki from the Nagoya Institute of Technology (NITech) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daniel Chua form the National University of Singapore (NUS).

More than 60 participants from Malaysia and other countries enhaced their knoweldge on principles and analytical techniques of X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and designing carbon-nanocomposite electrodes for both proton-exchange membrane (PEM) and microbial fuel cells.
